She was found as a stray on the side of the road, she was horribly matted and very skinny. She is a perfect lady, she rides perfect in a car, walks excellent on a leash and uses the outdoors to go potty.
Abbie gets along with other dogs just fine and could care less about a cat. She is probably a little deaf, but sees fine.
Abbie would be the perfect Aussie for someone that is retired, lives alone and is looking for that perfect, dedicated, devoted companion. She would be fine anywhere, we just think she deserves to be the star of the house and get all the attention she can handle as she has lived a long time and is now without that forever home, plus she needs someone that will never let her out of their sight so she knows she is loved.

Stephanie and her very new husband decided that they wanted to start their family with a four-legged child instead of a two-legged one. Her husband wanted an Australian Shepherd, and they both felt that rescue was the way to go. Stephanie found an online website, and then saw a picture of a beautiful blue merle boy on a Facebook link…and what can we say? It was love at first sight. Stephanie and her husband soon made the 2 hour drive to Mundelein, IL to meet Stryder.
We asked Stephanie how Stryder is doing after having joined their family a few months ago. Like any proud mom she said “he is fabulous—very sweet, loving and he has even learned a few new tricks. He has gained 15 lbs, which he really needed to gain, and he even has learned how to play with toys! Every day he does something new, he is really a wonderful first dog.”
Stephanie said everyone at the rescue was so nice and friendly (what else could she say?) and hopes to soon get more involved with the group. “I love to look on Facebook and see all the dogs who have found new homes–it is a wonderful thing your group does for these dogs, thank you!”
No Stephanie, the thanks goes to you and your husband for opening up your hearts and your home to Stryder. We know that adopting a rescue dog isn’t always easy, but it is people like you that make our efforts a success.
