Wogonda is a very sweet and somewhat timid lethal white blue merle Australian Shepherd male. He has lots of blue merle spots, so he resembles his sister Wanderoo quite a bit, without the colored ear. He has good vision in one eye and some vision in the other, and of course he is deaf.
He is very laid back, but will allow Wanderoo to lead him into trouble. Being timid, he tends to be quite vocal when out of his element or afraid- his howl is loud, but he is very quickly comforted with a quick hug or bet of reassurance. Even though he is timid, he is a very quick learner- again, he can come, sit and down already. He would be best with a gentle older dog rather than another rambunctious dog, and a home that is not super active but somewhat active. , He would be a good dog to walk with and take around town. He seems to be a good candidate for riding in the car, and if it involves a stop at the Ice Cream shop, well all the better!
He also LOVES to cuddle and is a great little puppy! His favorite position is on his back in your arms, as if you were cradling a baby. Wogonda is being fostered in Central Illinois. Complete an application at New Spirit 4 Aussie Rescue. Reference NS 1017.

Cassie is a very sweet and loving 1-2 year old lethal white female mini Australian Shepherd. Fortunately, neither her hearing nor vision has been affected by this, however (although given her age and puppy characteristics there are definitely days she’d argue otherwise As her foster mom, I’d label is as more “selective” hearing.). Cassie only weighs about 20lbs. She has littered one set of puppies recently and is consequently not yet spayed, but will be prior to adoption.

She’s a busy girl, who loves toys, bones, playing with other dogs, and chasing the squirrels outside, and the cat inside. She’s a very quick learner and does all she can to please you. You don’t need to teach her things twice, and she is definitely remorseful when she forgets. She’s learning the command “sit,” and is house and kennel-trained. She’s definitely a lover too and soaks up any and all attention you’ll give her. She plays well with children and will make her new family quite happy. Cassie is fostering in Minneapolis, MN.

Meet Sola a 12 week old red merle female Lethal White. She is deaf but sees just fine and will require a family that understands the needs of a deaf dog. We would also like to see her go into a home with another dog so she has someone to feed off of for her reactions.
Her foster mom says she is smart as a Harvard Grad (is there such a thing;) and she has already in her short time with Mom learned sit and down in one day. She is crate trained and is working on potty manners. She is a puppy and of course gets distracted with play.
She is being taught leash manners and not to nip when walking, she has a strong herd drive to her. She also is learning to share the kitchen at dinner time and should be trained to be respectful once she is ready for adoption.

Meet Toowoomba, Shadow for short, because he is a shadow, he follows you everywhere, you see Toowoomba is blind, but you wouldn’t know it in the way he plays and interacts, and walks threw the house. Toowoomba is a red merle Australian Shepherd male and is around 2 years old and weighs around 50 pounds.
Toowoomba came to only because the shelter felt he deserved a forever home, they love him and had no problem letting him stay, but what life is that to stay at a shelter the rest of your days? Toowoomba walks great on a leash, a little clicking and he falls right back in place, he rides great in a car and has no resource or food issues.
Toowoomba gets along great with other dogs, in fact once he got the lay of the yard when he is playing you would swear he had all his sight! He is a delight for his foster family, and he is very smart and quick to please.

Danny and his brother Tony are beautiful pure bred Australian Shepherds. Unfortunately they were not bred by individuals with any knowledge of the issues related to “double merles”. As a result of this breeding BOTH PUPPIES ARE BLIND AND DEAF. They actually have underdeveloped eyes, which appears as if they don’t have eyes at all. They are also deaf, so they can not hear any commands, or sweet sounds.

Meet Cassie a 3 year old blue merle mini Australian Shepherd female, who is also a mini. Cassie had a littler of puppies. She is 16 pounds, loves other dogs and people.
Meet Taree, a 3 month old blue merle female Lethal White Australian Shepherd. She will probably grow up to be about 40 pounds. She is deaf and will need a family that wants to work with a dog with a disability.
Taree is a very strong willed girl, she does guard her food and will need patience to over come that problem, she also tends to be selfish with toys, again this is a resource issue. Taree rides well in a car and is working on leash manners. She does get along with other dogs, but we suggest you bring the family dog to make sure they are willing to play together.

Crosby would make a fantastic agility or flyable dog with some dedicated training and direction. He has been seem actually jumping over his 3 foster brother and sisters in one hop!
Crosby is learning to walk on a leash, he plays well with other dogs, ignores cats, loves anyone one with 2 legs, and rides okay in a car. He will crate very well. He does tend to guard his food, but we think that too can be overcome and his foster mom and dad are busy training him.

Felix is a 1.5 year old red merle Australian Shepherd. He’s the result of a double merle breeding so he’s got some slight hearing and vision impairments, but he CAN see and he CAN hear and he gets around just like any normal dog!
Felix loves playing with other dogs and gets along with cats and children. He is housebroken and crate trained, though he can be left alone in the house loose and he doesnt get into anything. He’s a very reliable guy. So much so that even at his young age, he is a strong candidate to become a therapy dog should his adopters decide to persue it.

Baloo is an 8 year old purebred Australian Shepherd male. He came from a puppy mill where he was a breeder male most of his life! But he’s been neutered and is now living the good life indoors as a normal house dog. Baloo gets along excellently with kids! He’s even good with other dogs and cats.
Baloo is nearly housebroken and does well in a crate, though sometimes he will sing when he’s crated. His foster dad has been putting him behind a baby gate instead and he does very well that way! He’s a very calm, mellow dude who is medium energy. He loves going for car rides and hanging with his people. Baloo would make an excellent addition to just about any family situation! We initially thought he was completely deaf, but it appears that he does have some hearing. His vision is fine.
Meet Mr. Burns, no not the one that Homer doesn’t like but the good Mr. Burns. You see Burns is from Kentucky, and we think he was used to sire many puppies in a puppy mill, in other words a puppy mill stud, who was probably no longer needed to perform his duties. Well in the puppy mill world you are pretty much out the door, either dumped, put to sleep or worse kept in a crate until you die. Lucky for Burns he was able to find his way to a shelter, only to be set for the long walk, you see Mr. Burns had lots of strikes against him, he was old, he was blind in one eye, he has teeth worn down to the numb from chewing on the wires in his crate, he was arthritic, and he didn’t have a gleam of hope in his eyes. He was then transferred to another shelter to buy him 10 more days of life while rescues were pleaded with to take this old gentleman.

Meet Eddie – an all-around awesome family Australian Shepherd! Eddie loves to play, yet is not aggressive or overly playful. He’s a medium size guy with an extra large personality! He is an extremely loyal family friend yet has no anxiety and is completely trusted while the family is out to freely roam the house. He has great puppy dog manners such as knowing and listening to basic commands, being gentle/fun with visitors, cats, and other dogs. It was originally thought that since Eddie is whats known as a double merle Aussie, he could be deaf. But his foster mom reports that he can hear her calling for him from a different floor of the house! So while he got the lethal coloring, his vision and hearing are just fine! As for his business, he’ll bark to let you know it is time to go outside, and does not have accidents in the house.
At bedtime he prefers to sleep as close to his family as he can – by the bed, in the bed, near the bedroom door – wherever you will let him – just as long as he knows he is part of the clan!
Eddie appears to have been very well loved and trained from wherever he has came from, and is very much loved in his foster home here! If all this were not enough, you should hear all the compliments he gets on his beautiful coat, cute expressive face, and his A + personality while out on walks or at the pet store. Who would not adore this guy? Eddie is fostering in St Louis Park, Minnesota. Complete an application at New Spirit 4 Aussie Rescue. Reference NS 0903.
