They think it was a .22 caliber. The shot shattered her leg. The surgery was performed yesterday and she is expected to make a 100% recovery, and will have complete use of her leg.

The amazing thing about Shayla is she never once cried, showed any fear or aggression towards those helping her, and has been what we call the perfect dog. She is staying at the vets office for a few days and then on her way to a foster home for recovery.

While not quite ready for people to meet her, she is still asking for donations to offset the costs to save her. I would also like to thank Emily, Rose, Hal, Beth Anne and Joyce for helping New Spirit save this girl and give her a second chance with a family that will want her forever :)
