ADOPTED: Meet Buddy, a 10-year-old male blue merle Australian Shepherd, up to date on all required state shots and on monthly HeartWorm and Flea meds. Buddy should weigh around 50 to 55 pounds but is on a diet and started his weight-loss program at 65 pounds!
Buddy is a medium energy guy yet very active for his age. He loves a car ride though he seems to have an obsession with cars, as in he needs to catch up with them, so when in the car, window needs to be up enough, so no issues happen, same for walks, he wants to take chase, at dog park he runs the fence line, at home he notices and alerts. He was left outside all day from his previous home, so boredom was negated with chasing cars on his outdoor chain. That is Buddy’s only bad behavior.
Buddy is a pack leader type and demands he gets his attention and time and will not relinquish to other dogs until he is ready. He lets other dogs know they are interrupting. Buddy also has never had an accident in his foster homes. Buddy gets along with other dogs, just he loves human contact even more. Because of this we suggest he be an only dog.
Buddy is crate trained but he is so well behaved he has roam of the house when his foster family goes to work, or bed at night. We have not cat tested Buddy, he has a prey drive for cars, we would have to check cats if important. Also, Buddy is not kid or toddler tested, we can’t recommend a home with children.
