ADOPTED: Meet Smuckers, a handsome 2 year old Black Tri Male Australian Shepherd. Smuckers is up to date on all his shots, neutered and microchipped and is Heartworm Negative. He is also crate trained (he actually loves crate time 😉 and housebroken and weighs around 41 pounds.
Smuckers, once he builds his bond and trust with you and your family, gives you his full heart and dedication, you can see it in his beautiful brown eyes. Once he has trusted he loves to learn more and is a joy to train, says his foster family.
Smuckers is on the smaller side of an Australian Shepherd. He is full of energy and has a high drive. He currently resides with a foster sister and two cats. Smuckers has excellent inside manners and is learning obedience commands like wait for food, touch, down, and sit. He loves car rides tremendously and is more than happy to accompany you on trips.
Smuckers loves to wrestle with his foster sister, and play with his herding ball. Some of his favorite things to do are snuggle with his family, and go on long walks as he is excellent on a leash.
Smuckers is somewhat shy of strangers and new situations, he will trust his new family to make sure he is not too uncomfortable and to take it slow when introducing him to new people and places. Smuckers might do best in a home with another dog, fenced in yard as his recall needs improvement and walks that don’t involve lots of traffic or a home that will be willing to take the time to build up his confidence in new situations. Smuckers is a loving and dedicated family member, who just wants to be by your side. After a few long walks and some training time he’s game for a good snuggle on the couch with a chew toy to keep him occupied.
